Real admit interest in Arsenal star
Real Madrid look poised to make a move for Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb after head coach Bernd Schuster admitted the Spanish giants have been encouraged by developments in recent days.
Hleb enjoyed his best season by some distance for Arsenal but his future appears to be away from Emirates Stadium after his agent claimed last week that Arsene Wenger has agreed to let the former Stuttgart star leave.
Inter had always been seen as frontrunners for the five-time Belarus Player of the Year and, despite Hleb’s claims that he does not enjoy big city life, now the giants from the metropolis of Madrid can be added to his list of suitors.
Schuster’s initial plans for the summer transfer market had not included the versatile Hleb, but the Real boss is now seriously considering a move for the Gunners star.
“There are a couple of posts that we can improve and that needs to be strengthened to have the necessary balance,” Schuster told AS.
“Over the past two months we have had a plan and we know what we want, but now Hleb has been added.
“We did not know he could leave Arsenal but in recent days it has been more positive. We were surprised that he might leave there.” |
