Premier League - Poyet, DIG: No to Newcastle

Tottenham's Gus Poyet says Newcastle is "not the right place" to take his first steps into management, while the Dubai Investment Group have also distanced themselves from a takeover at St James' Park.

Former Chelsea midfielder Poyet has previously been the assistant to Newcastle's director of football Dennis Wise at Swindon and Leeds.
Poyet is currently Juande Ramos's number two at Tottenham, but had been the favourite to succeed Kevin Keegan at St James' Park.
He admitted last week that he is happy at Spurs and was not worrying about the speculation surrounding his future.
The Uruguayan is good friends with Wise and Newcastle vice-president Tony Jimenez, but believes the Magpies are in a 'mess'.
"It's easy [to speculate] as Dennis is there and Tony Jimenez, who is my best friend in England, it's too easy," Poyet told Sky Sports.
"I think it's a little bit of a mess there at the moment, so it's not the right place for me.
"It's a great job and I would like to manage one day, but it's not the right time now."
Dubai Investment Group, which is a member of Dubai Holding, was linked with an approach for the Tyneside club on Tuesday evening; however the investment firm has moved to dispel the reports.
A statement said: "Following incorrect media speculation about Newcastle Football Club, Dubai Investment Group can confirm that it is not involved in any negotiations to buy Newcastle Football Club, nor does it plan to do so in the future."
