Sporting Lisbon winger Nani has moved a step closer to finalising his move to Manchester United after passing a medical at the club's Carrington training ground.
United have agreed a deal with the Portuguese club to sign the highly-rated wideman for a reported initial fee of £8million.
Nani now requires international clearance before completing his move to Old Trafford.
"This is a dream move," he said recently. "It won't be easy to get a place in the first team, but I am ready for the challenge."
Nani, who is seen as the long-term replacement for Ryan Giggs, will join fellow new arrivals Owen Hargreaves and Anderson at Old Trafford when pre-season training begins next month.
The 20-year-old has made five appearances and scored once for Portugal after breaking into the international set-up.
The tricky winger played 29 times for Cristiano Ronaldo's former club Sporting Lisbon last season. |
