GUTHRIE: I STILL DREAM OF ANFIELD
Danny Guthrie is still dreaming of becoming a Liverpool regular despite speculation that his loan to Bolton may become permanent.
The 20-year-old has taken the Reebok by storm since Gary Megson took over from Sammy Lee, prompting praise from Rafa Benitez earlier this week.
Newspaper reports have suggested Liverpool could be persuaded to part company with the midfielder for good – but Guthrie insists it's news to him.
"It's good for me to play week in, week out. It's good experience," he told Liverpoolfc.tv. "Life at Bolton is great. There's a great set of lads and I'm loving playing.
"I haven't heard anything from Liverpool yet. I just want to keep playing and doing well for myself and then I'll see what happens.
Guthrie added: "Liverpool is my club. I've been to a couple of the European games this season and I look out for them whenever they play.
"I love the club and I see my future being a Liverpool player. Hopefully that can be but if not then I have proven that I can play at this level."
The youngster was unable to play against his permanent employers at the weekend because of loan rules. It was a state-of-affairs he wasn't aware of until the week of the game.
Guthrie explained: "I didn't know until three or four days before the game that I couldn't play, so I was devastated.
"We played a great side at the weekend and the better team won. The team would take some getting into but I'm not thinking about that. I'm just getting my head down and I'll see what happens at the end of the season. I just want to play football."
Bolton went into the game on the back of a surprise 1-0 win over Man Utd. Guthrie admits he was delighted to get one over the old enemy and help Liverpool's title cause.
He said: "It was good on a personal note to take Man Utd out of their stride so Liverpool could pull a few points back on them."
