Round-Up: Keane and Barry latest

Robbie Keane is set to become Liverpool’s second most expensive signing when he completes his move to Anfield next week, with a medical expected to take place on Monday.
The deal is expected to cost £18m but could rise to £20m depending on bonuses such as Liverpool winning the Premier League or Champions League.

28 year old Keane turned down the chance to join the club he supported as a boy, instead signing for Wolves, and is seen as the perfect partner for record signing Fernando Torres by many, including manager Rafa Benitez.
The Republic of Ireland captain and record goalscorer was left out of Spurs squad for their friendly on Thursday. He has scored an impressive 80 goals in 197 appearances for Spurs and is hugely experienced in the Premier League. His interntional record of 33 goals in 81 appearances is equally impressive.
Keane scored 23 goals in all competitions last season and has reached double figures in the League in each of the last 6 seasons.
Keane is expected to sign a five year contract and could take the famous number 7 jersey, formerly occupied by Harry Kewell. He could even be part of the squad which travels to Spain for the friendly with Villareal on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Gareth Barry played most of Aston Villa’s Intertoto Cup win over Odense on Saturday. Replacing injured Wilfred Bouma early on, he received a warm reception from the Villa fans and had an impressive second half display.
Reports continue to suggest that any move for Barry can only be concluded if Xabi Alonso departs and therefore funds Barry’s arrival. The Mirror reports Fenerbache are the latest club to show an interest in the Spanish midfielder.
Elsewhere, defender Jack Hobbs has joined League One Leicester on loan for the season and Godwin Antwi has been loaned to neighbours Tranmere.
