Schalke star Ernst banned for horror tackle

BERLIN, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Schalke 04 midfielder Fabian Ernst willbe suspended for three matches after being sent off for a late tacklein Saturday's 3-3 draw with Borussia Dortmund.

Ernst was red-carded in the 77th minute after a terriblefoul on Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Schalke, who were leading 3-0 midway through the secondhalf, also had Christian Pander sent off for a second bookingamid Dortmund's frantic late comeback.

The result ended up costing Schalke the league leadership,as Hamburg SV took advantage to go top with a 3-2 win at home toBayer Leverkusen.
