The first ladies' seed to exit The Championships today was No.22 ShaharPeer. She was a set up against Russian left-hander Ksenia Pervak and itseemed as though the owner of five WTA titles would go on to defeat herfirst round opponent. However, the 20-year-old Russian had other plans, earning the crucial break in the ninth game and serving it out to makeit one set all. The final set came down to just one break point, which went the way of Pervak who was very strong behind her serves. Sheforced Peer into making 50 unforced errors throughout the match andthat was ultimately the Israeli's undoing. 0 ^* c! Withthe experience of winning three WTA titles to draw upon, Wickmayerraised her game in the second set and only committed three unforcederrors. She showed just how solid she could be from the back of thecourt by converting two of three break points to progress to the secondround. tvb now, tvbnow, bttvb; ~* N/ V# i2 V, D; j7 A
