Old notebook dead, but HDD work, but user files locked by password.
Try to use as external drive, reads ok but denied when access user files.
know the password but don't know how to unlock.
Attempt to insert into another notebook, different brand but do not recognise.
What should I do? as got important information inside.

the notebook HDD is probaby formatted with NTFS with a passworded user account.
What you need to do is on your new laptop or your desktop, create a user account with WindowXP with the SAME account name an password(case senstivie), than open the file like normal.作者: newmember1 時間: 2007-3-3 07:25 AM
