The reputable tuning company AC Schnitzer specializing on Munich carmanufacturer BMW has been the center of recent IAA 2007 auto show inFrankfurt. It has presented its sporting coupe GP3.10 Gas Poweredhaving a powerful engine capable to burn LPG. It’s very surprising toconnect pure tuning and ecological thinking.

But we’re still happy that these guys from German Aachen created onceagain an unusual vehicle with their maximal approach. Despite of itsecological ambitions, it’s also a great 4-wheel athlete being ready tothrill its crew.

The GP3.10 concept has roots in the BMW 335i Coupe that hasnow installed the best BMW’s engine – V10 aggregate from BMW M6. Thisengine has a modified software map of ECU, new exhaust tract andsporting catalyzer with manifold to produce the maximum output of 552hp(406kW) at magical 8000rpm – the M6’s stock version produces373kW/507hp, so this beast has 45hp more

6200rpm means 540Nm of torque pressing on a crankshaft, sothat’s 20Nm more. The engineers installed two parallel LPG 5-cylindervaporizers into the suction tract and 80liter gas tank to be able touse LPG.

The aggregate is of course capable to burn petrol, so GP3.10 owns alsosecond 60l petrol tank. The tuner doesn’t mention any performance lossduring LPG burning, but it declares perfect parameters, as 100kmph in4.5 seconds

It can beat 200kmph in less than 14 seconds of brutalacceleration of this hybrid coupe. AC Schnitzer also tested the vehiclein Nardo to prove its great advantages. The GP3.10 reached 318.1kmph atthe famous Italian circuit and that means the new world speed record incase of the LPG.

So the GP3.10 Gas Powered is currently the fastest LPG powered car in the world..

Theintroduction of the GP3.10 Gas Powered by AC Schnitzer is the proofthat also a powerful sports car delivering great experience can be alsonature-friendly. LPG as an alternative fuel is cheaper and alsoproduces 15% less of CO2 compared to ordinary petrol engines

There are many LPG stations around, so it’s no limiting factor. Andremember, there’s always a magical button on the dashboard to changeLPG to petrol burning.

AC Schnitzer representatives estimate the GP3.10 Gas Powered’sprice to 198,000 euros, but it’s just an informative price without anychance to buy, because of the car’s exclusivity.
