Sydney is quite different to other major capital city though.  Nothing really spectacular.  Blue sky, great sunshine, very nice beaches, most important of all is, it's very safe, and very friendly people.
Comparatively more expensive than LA, NY or Vancouver.  Accommodation is slightly cheaper than NY.
There are other nature attractions like the Great Barrier Reef, but you need to fly there, it's really worthwhile though.

Brisbane is a lot quieter than Sydney, if you are from HK, you may get bored quickly there.  It's still a very nice city though.
