since i don't know Japanese, however i see something about Unicode.

you can try to change the unicode to japanese under control panel-->regional and language options-->Advanced tab-->change japanese as the default unicode-->and then restart you system.

P.S. since the unicode is japanese, you might have problem with installed chinese or other languages program.
