I think the type of hard drive original post mentioned is solid state drive (SSD), not regular 3.5" PC hard drive  =.=
as far as I know, the manufacturers only offer 1-3 years warranty to this type hard drive whereas 5 years for seagate/maxtor and 3 years for western digital.

just wanted to remind you that solid state drive is fastest hard drive you can buy at this point, even faster than western digital's raptor. so, it is very preferable to setup a system in it. but, if you want to also use bt or any other p2p softwares on this drive, I will not recommend doing that. so, solid state drive for system will be fine, but a big no no for bt/p2p softwares.

well, the ssd itself has no problem, whatsoever. but, i don't think it worths risking its lifespan for the unnoticeable speed changes for bt downloading.

yes, ssd is faster than regular hard drive. but, since it is much more expensive than regular hard drive, would you risk to shorten the ssd lifespan for its performance?
if the answer is yes, go ahead.
but, i will not do it even if i own a ssd myself.
