Caceres makes Gunners claim

Promising Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres has claimed that Arsenal are one of three clubs interested in securing his services.



The 19-year-old, who is already part of the Uruguay Under 21 squad, is currently contracted to Villarreal, but is on loan at Recreativo.


Caceres has been quoted as saying that The Gunners are tracking him, while Real Madrid and Juventus are also keen.

José Martín Cáceres (Born March 17, 1988 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan football player. His primary position is central defender. In February 2007, he signed for Villarreal CF in Spain for five years on a free transfer from Uruguayan football club Defensor Sporting Club. He will play on loan to Recreativo de Huelva in 2007-08.

He played with the Uruguay under-20 team in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, held in Canada in 2007.
He has recently been linked with a move to Premiership giants Arsenal..
