Castillo must fight for City place - Agent

Nery Castillo has to get over the disappointment of missing out on a loan move to Real Betis and fight for a place in the Manchester City side, the player's agent has said.

Betis had been hoping to sign the 24-year-old forward, who joined City on a 12-month loan from Shakhtar Donetsk in January, on a temporary basis with a view to possibly making the switch permanent in the future.
City had agreed to cancel his loan deal in England but Betis announced on Saturday an agreement could not be reached with Shakhtar and the move was off.
His agent, Juan Carlos Padilla, said Castillo must be a professional, even if he has little chance to play at Manchester City.
'Four tournaments are being played, but it's obvious Nery is not a priority (for Manchester City). This is not a secret,' he said.
'As a professional, Nery must complete his responsibilities. This season the team will play a lot of matches. I think he will probably play some minutes in the FA Cup, in the league or the UEFA Cup.
'Shakhtar changed a lot of things in the offer they had initially accepted.'
Padilla added Castillo is only thinking about playing football
'At the end of the day, Nery wants to play. Obviously, this is not the most optimistic situation in Nery's career, but life has worse problems,' said Padilla.
'Nery will get over it. This is an out-of-context situation in world football.'
Mexico coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said yesterday he is worried about the situation Castillo is in, stating he will only name him in the national team if he manages to sort out his future and settle down at a club.
Padilla stated: 'I chat with Eriksson quite often and Nery's chances to play for the national team will be there if he plays. That's obvious.
'Anyway, we'll see what is going to happen. This is a decision Eriksson must make. We don't have any influence on that.
'He must do his job thinking about the best for Mexico.'
