What's so puzzling? Little damselfly is clearly perplexed by the photographer stood before him

Perched on the edge of a leaf, this damselfly takes a moment to gather his thoughts.
The fly becomes beautifully animated in this humorous pose as he scratches his head and the concentration can be seen in its large round eyes.
Captured by Russian photographer, Leonid Lomako, 40, the light blue coloured damselfly is clearly perplexed, and its movements are excellently caught.

Damselflies have large and external gills which resemble three fins at the end of the abdomen.
After moulting several times, the winged adult emerges and eats flies, mosquitoes, and other small insects.
Some of the larger tropical species are known to feed on spiders, hovering near the web and plucking the spider from its nest.
The philosophy teacher said: 'The insect family Coenagrionidae or Damselfly shots were taken on my Dacha not far from Belgorod where I live.
'I noticed the damselfly's movements during the shoot, which was really funny - it's a usual behaviour for them in the mornings when they try to get the dew-drops off them.
'I've been fond of photography since being a schoolboy but I've got into Macro, as a hobby in the last ten years.
'I've been really pleased with both the shooting process and these results.'
Oh well, after a while, the damsel-fly relaxes, and we can all take a leaf out his book and have a smile |
