In th eold days with a crt monitor, we cant fully use all avaiable screen area. We have to shrink display size to make edge square. Well, just after Jan 10th update and my pc reboot, I lost 1 inch display area from two sides and half inch from top and down. The dell s2440l has highest display resulution of 1920x1080 hardware resolution and windows set display resolution clearly say I am at that resolution. Well, one of it must be wrong since I have un-used screen area. If I use another notebook to test the lcd, well, full display area is usable. Thus its either my display card ati 4870x2 went crazy or the windows is drugged. I could not using the latest screen lcd display driver too.
the screen was working properly till I reboot it. i suspect its the latest windows update ruin it and I dont have a system restore pt to go back.
any input? seen any similar case?
