Assume the fat guy is talking the truth. He says the tall guy said yes, when the professor asked whether he's speaking the truth or not. Then the fat guy says the tall guy is the liar. So if the tall guy is the liar, when the professor asked him whether he's speaking the truth, he lied. This makes sense.

This assumption does not hold.
