Is there a certain temperature people don't need to go to work?  or school?
Here students have to endure heat for 6 hours in classrooms with no air-con.

Seattle will snow 2-3 times a year. Most of it are small. But 2 years ago Seattle had a big snow storm that frozen the city for whole month.

A cyclone Yasi just visited Australia, bringing 200+ winds and chaos, destroyed lots of houses, crops and produce.  Veg will be expensive soon.
Yasi brought the hot air from inland to the east, then when it hits the cold front from the south brought lots of rain.  
Now Yasi has been downgraded and we are spared of flood and rain, just the tail end of wind.

They will play the bowl game at all weather, even snow. Except too too cold, no one will go watch it.

Yes, I heard about the cyclone which is the same as Typhoon or Hurricane.
Australia been badly battered this summer.

Look like Australia is hard luck and have a bad year. A lot of trouble storm went there.

Australia had drought for many years,  this year has a lot of dams filled.. and lots of towns flooded.
Read about the Amazon river has dried up for at least a year (?) Ferries are resting on solid ground.  Lots of rainforest trees cannot be replaced.  El nino and el nina in force (?)
