West Brom swoop for defenders Donk and Olsson

West Brom have agreed a deal to sign Dutch defender Ryan Donk, having already snapped up Jonas Olsson.
The AZ youngster is highly rated.



Swedishstopper Olsson, who can play at centre-half or left-back, completed his£800,000 arrival from NEC Nijmegen on Sunday night, while AZ Alkmaarclaim Donk will join the Premier League new boys on a season-long loandeal.
The highly-rated Donk will join compatriot GianniZuiverloon at The Hawthorns if he successfully comes through a medicaland now looks set to becomes the club's 11th new face of the summer.
Donk's signing has yet to be confirmed by Albion, but manager Tony Mowbray explained why he had decided to pursue Olsson.
'He's got different assets to our other centre-halves,' said Mowbray.
'He's a big, tall, left-sided defender who will bring physical attributes to our team due to his sheer size.
'Jonas is comfortable on the ball, can pick a pass and also has a real winner's attitude.
'He'sbeen brought in to increase competition at centre-half and I'm lookingforward to working with him and helping to develop his career in thePremier League.'
