哥倫布笑著站起來，順手抓起桌上放著的熟雞蛋，說：
「請各位試試看，能不能讓這個雞蛋用尖的那一頭豎立起來？」
大家試了又試，沒人成功，都說這是不可能的事！
哥倫布接過雞蛋，把尖頭往桌上輕輕一敲，那稍微碎了一點的蛋就穩穩地立在桌上了。
那人高叫：「那不算，他把蛋殼敲破，雞蛋當然可以站起來！」
